Pewter Candle Tray
A bespoke candle tray made from sand-cast pewter. This piece was a pleasure to design and produce as it combined my love and passion for digital fabrication and traditional metalworking techniques. The process began with four 3D-printed components, which I adhered, sanded and primed to form the pattern for the casting process. A thin layer of cork has been applied to the base for improved stability and reduced scratching.

During the development stages of the project, several illustrations of each design were made to better understand the shape, form and tactile nature of each product. The result is a collection of playful drawings that feature the organic sprues formed during the sand casting process.
